Members of the Rotary Club of Royal Hua Hin supported their colleagues and friends from the Rotary Club of Bangkapi on Sunday 16th February for their 49th Children's Day held at the Regent Beach Resort in Cha Am.

The event was held for children with disabilities from the Srisangwan School in Nonthaburi which was the first to be established in Thailand by the Mother of the late king Rama 9.

Nearly 100 children attended the event with staff from the Srisangwan School and were provided with toys for the beach, shorts and T Shirts and small gifts including back packs all provided by the Rotary Club Bangkapi.

Lunch, drinks and snacks were provided by the Regent Beach Resort and served to the children by the Rotarians, Rotaractors and other volunteers.  The event was well supported by the Rotary Clubs of Royal Hua Hin, Lopburi, Bangkok South and Bangkok as well as Rotaractors from Webster University Hua Hin and the Chinese International School from Bang Na in Bangkok.
Once again the staff of the Regent Beach Resort hotel worked tirelessly support the event as well as some of the hotel guests.  Entertainment was provided by children from the blind school in Lopburi who played some lively Thai music, Karaoke from the children of the school and various other impromptu performances from Hotel staff, Webster University and the students from the Chinese International School.
The most challenging part of the day was getting the children in and out of the water as a chain of helpers had to carry the children down sand bags to gain access to the water but as

always the team spirit won the day that allowed a number of children to enjoy a swim in the sea supported by volunteers from the different groups.

Once again this has been a very special day for the children of the Srisangwan School to allow them to have the wonderful experience of visiting the sea side which for many may be a once in a life time opportunity.
Talking to many of the volunteers on the day it was also a marvelous experience for them to bring so much happiness to these children.

Congratulations to RC Bangkapi for another successful Children's day and we look forward to the 50th Anniversary in 2021.
