Once again the Rotary Club of Royal Hua Hin is pleased to provide assistance to Mercy House Foundation. Recently Wichai Rongkhunkaew who is Chairman of the Board at Mercy House reached out to friends of Mercy House and other supporters who in the past have helped sponsor projects at the home. Wichai requested funding to provide 5 new or used lap top computers.
Currently schools in the province of Prachuab Khiri Khan as well as the rest of Thailand have been closed for much of 2021; therefore, children are undertaking their studies online. Wichai went onto say that currently the children are learning online using mobile phone technology which makes learning more difficult using small screens, which could also lead to causing visionary problems later in life.

The Rotary Club of Royal Hua Hin were happy to purchase two new HP lap top computers, and two sets of headsets to improve the on-line learning experience.

Another supporter of the home has also purchased a laptop. This means that a further two laptops are required.

On Monday 9th August President Phil Lawrence and Past President Napa Keawtem were pleased to handover the computers to the Mercy Foundation. As there had been a number of Covid-19 cases locally Wichai stated that the home was closed and requested that no more than three Rotary Club members attend the event.

Following the handing over of the computers Wichai Presented Phil and Napa with a Donation certificate thanking the support of Rotary Club of Royal Hua Hin.

President Phil went onto say sometimes it’s the smaller projects that bring the most happiness and reward to people, from a personal perspective to see the smiles on the children’s faces underpins what we do in Rotary and makes it so worthwhile.
