Stamford International University Charity Night

Thursday 24th May 2018 saw the International Charity Night organised by Stamford International University (SIU) Hua Hin and Rotaract.

The stunning event was held at Market Village on Petchkasem Road and all funds raised went towards less fortunate border schools in Thailand, to help with security and teaching materials.

SIU Rotaract are sponsored by the Rotary Club of Royal Hua Hin (RCRHH), who donated B10,000 towards the evenings prizes, and a good number of members attended and supported the occasion.  Also present were RCRHH Sister Club, the Rotary Club of Hua Hin.  Both Presidents were in attendance, P.Birger Rexed, who addressed the guests talking briefly about Rotary and its support of the occasion,  and P Khun Wasana Rai, together with Pierre Bourgoin, Director of SIU and main organiser RCRHH Charter Member Khun Benjamas Umsa-Ard, who works at the University.  The evening consisted of an International Costume Contest, Food Festival and shows, all overseen or performed by students from the University.

PN Napa Keawtem, Sec Martin Harrison from RCRHH and Khun Piyanee Boonchaleaw, VP of Hua Hin Women's club, were asked to judge the costume contest.  This was a very difficult task due the sheer high standard of international costumes, some extremely beautiful, from as far a-field as India, Korea, Saudi Arabia, France, Egypt, Viet Nam, China, United Kingdom and of course Thailand.

A range of awards were made including to the best smile! And guests at the event who were from the various countries represented were very vocal in their support.

A great evening, and a tribute to Rotaractors, SIU,K Benjamas, but particularly to the students who made so much effort with their costumes, performances and the food.
