In February, this year PP Napa was contacted by Khun Dr. Somchai Sintae, who spoke about an exceptional local student Thiranan Sudyod (Khun Earth), who had achieved exceptional grades whilst studying at the Treamudomsuksapattanakarn school in Pranburi.

Khun Earth has been accepted as a student at the renowned Chiang Mai Medical Institute and will start six years of study starting June 2023.

Following meetings with the school past and current Director, Khun Earth, and his family
Rotary Club of Royal Hua Hin has agreed to sponsor Khun Earth for a minimum of three years at a cost of 60,000 Thai Baht a year.

Following a sister club agreement between the Rotary Club of Ploi Ratchaburi and our club earlier this year, we contacted the club, to ascertain whether they would be interested in joining us in this project. To prove the cooperation between Rotary Clubs, the RC Ploi Ratchaburi agree to donate 30,000 Thai baht towards the first years tuition fees.

Our Sister Club Ploi Ratchaburi is also supporting this project by donating 30,000 Thai Baht this year.
In addition, a longtime supporter and friend of our Thai Australian chair Rotarian Alan Brown, Andrew Madigan agreed to support this project with a donation of 20,000 Thai Baht.

On Tuesday 9th May we officially launched this project at our regular lunchtime meeting at the Amari Hotel Khao Takiab.

Thirty-three members and guests attended the launch of the project, and our club was honored to welcome District Governor La-Or Chinda, Rotary District 3330, President Thatchaya Siriwong, and five other members of the Rotary Club of Ploi Ratchaburi.

Also attending were Khun Earths mother Kodchanat Sudyod, the past school director Dr Somchai Sintae and Khun Wasan Banluesap the current School director.
During the meeting Khun Earth gave a presentation on his academic achievements, his shill at scrabble and crosswords, which helped him learn English, and his future goals as a medical student.

PP Dr. Danai Adulyasak will act as a mentor for Mr. Thiranan Sudyod, who will start his studies in June.

Following the presentation, the Rotary Club of Royal Hua Hin presented gifts to the Rotary Club of Ploi Ratchaburi, in return DG La-Or Chinda presented local honey and sweets from the province of Ratchaburi.
