Our Rotarians took part in the official handover of our new security wall construction project at the entrance of Ban Khlong Noi Border Patrol Police School in the mountainous region of Pala-U, Hua Hin on 14 August. This is another one of our international joint community service projects recently completed with support from our friends of the Rotary Club of Bangkok South and the Rotary Club of San Francisco Greater Mission. Our club has a longstanding, working relationship with the school and we’ve conducted a number of service projects for them over the years.
There are over 150 students in the school, grades 1 to 6, and the remote village is located about a 75-minute drive from the Hua Hin city center. We inspected the vegetable garden that supplies fresh produce for the daily lunches at the school, and revisited the new classroom construction that we sponsored in a joint-project on 7 January 2025. We also inspected the installation of our recently completed renewable energy project using solar power to ensure uninterrupted electricity for the school’s computer room, with support from the Stuttgart Aid for Refugee Orphans in Myanmar e.V. (SAROM).
Under Rotary International’s mission to CREATE LASTING IMPACT, our primary focus is on the underprivileged and disadvantaged with an emphasis on improving education standards and the personal development, health and well-being of children for sustainability.
