The Rotaract Club of Stamford International University conducted their 6th annual “All for One, One for All” community service project for the children of Ban Wang Pla School in the mountainous region of Pran Buri on 7 February. This University Social Responsibility (USR) project was made possible by the funds raised at their International Charity Gala Night held on 23 January.
The Rotaractors donated tables and chairs for the classrooms as well as a new battery storage system for their solar power generation as there is no grid electricity in the remote area. The school educates 30 students in grades 1 to 6 with four teachers.
In a joint service project of the Rotary Club of Royal Hua Hin with the Rotary Club of Aireborough in England, we donated 160 Thai-language books for children to augment the school’s library and provided lunch for the children, teachers and Rotaractors on the day. The Rotary Club of Royal Hua Hin sponsored the charter of the Stamford Rotaract Club in 2016 and they are now in their 9th year of community service.
