Our Rotarians joined with the students, teachers and families at Ban Nern Payom School again to celebrate the Thai National Children’s Day on 9 January. The students played games and had lunch together and our club donated blankets, “Moo Deng” pillows and ice cream for everyone. We also delivered a new set of 160 books chosen by the academics of Chulalongkorn University to help expand their library selection.
Special thanks to the Froggett family and Past President Paul for donating 65 kilograms of rice to the school’s kitchen, President-Elect Erik and Rotarian Hanne for bringing additional blankets, and the Burgess family for providing toothbrushes and toothpaste for all the kids.
Located in the mountainous region of Bueng Nakhon, the school is about a 90-minute drive from the Hua Hin city center. The school and the local villagers do not have access to the electricity grid but a limited amount of solar power is in use. It was another great day and a lot of fun for all inspired with the Magic of Rotary!
