Following the 3rd wave of Covid-19 that has struck Thailand since April 2021 that has seen restrictions on bars, restaurants and public gatherings here in Hua Hin. One of the key monthly activities with Rotary Club of Royal Hua Hin has been the monthly fellowship evening held on the first Tuesday of each month, however these social activities have had to be curtailed for the time being.
Club President Brian Anderson came up with a novel way to continue with these fellowship evenings by promoting an online ‘Worldwide Live Music Broadcast’ with our favorite band BLUE VELVET who Performed live from Hua Hin, Thailand on Tuesday, 1 June 2021, for one hour via ZOOM meeting

Rotarians and the general public were invited to attend from anywhere in the world to enjoy renditions of the folk, country and rock songs from Ireland, Scotland, England, Europe and the United States.

The event was free of charge for all; however, donations were welcome to help us raise funds to purchase much-needed personal protective equipment to support the frontline medical professionals at the Red Cross Clinic in Hua Hin.

A total of Forty people Logged into the event from not only Thailand but four other countries around the globe including President of Rotary Club Noble Park Dingley in Victoria Australia, Four past Presidents from RC Patong Beach and RC Bangkok South, Past President Richard Jones in the UK with our old friends Roger and Carole Ward from Rotary Club of Aireborough in Yorkshire.  The concert could be viewed from the comfort of their own homes, overall, the event was a great success and one to be repeated, as the saying goes “The show will go on”
