On Friday 19th July New President of the Rotary Club Royal Hua Hin, Napa Keawtem and Rotarian Arnold Ruijs joined the Surf 102.5 live breakfast show from the Siam Bakery at the Marriot Resort & Spa. The breakfast show is broadcast live every Friday morning between 07:00 and 10:00 and is hosted by Richard and Leigh.
The breakfast show is open to hotel guest, members of the public visiting the Siam Bakery to enjoy breakfast and listen to a variety of music through the last four decades.The 19th July was the first of four planned broadcasts to promote the 10th Annual Charity Golf Classic to be held at the Banyan Golf club on the 29th November 2019.
The golf tournament has become one of the major sporting events to be held in Hu Hin and is the key fund raiser to support local and National projects selected by the Rotary Club Royal Hin.
During the show Richard asked Napa and Arnold how the Rotary Club Royal Hua Hin was Formed. Arnold replied that 10 years ago some residents here in Hua Hin wanted to join the Rotary Club of Hua Hin, however this proved difficult as it was a Thai speaking club only. Following this 7 or 8 people got together and formed an English-speaking club the Rotary Club of Royal Hua Hin.
10 years on and the RCRHH has 51 members from fifteen different countries.
Arnold and Napa promoted the club telling listeners about the weekly meetings and fellowship evening held on Tuesdays throughout each month and how the Rotary Club Royal Hua Hin can be contacted.
Napa spoke about the 24 projects that the club supported last year and that THB 1,070,377 had been spent on these projects and provided further detail on some of the projects.
Arnold spoke about the planned golf tournament and the importance of attracting sponsors to support it. Arnold was pleased to announce that once again Orchid Palm Homes was a Platinum Plus sponsor and had pledged THB 200’000 to the tournament.
He went on to explain the different levels of sponsorship and how it helps make the Golf Tournament a great success.
