Following a plea locally to help Theo Zwahlen, a Swiss national who after running a trail in Koh Chang collapsed with heat stroke, followed by kidney failure and muscle breakdown, Rotarian Reetika Saha responded with the call for urgent donation of blood.

Theo was admitted to Bangkok Hospital in Chantaburi and needed platelets, however, his blood type was the slightly rarer O Rhesus negative (approximately 1 person in 15), but even rarer in Thailand with only 1 person in every 1000 having this blood type.
As soon as the call to help was received Reetika, a member of the RC Royal Hua Hin and who is ORH- assisted by President Kau of Stamford University Rotaractors for translation purposes and co-ordinated by Rotarian Benjamas Uamsa-Ard, stepped up was able to donate her blood at the Red Cross Hospital in Hua Hin.  Her blood being immediately transferred to Chantaburi.

An example of Rotarians and Rotaractors going above and beyond what is expected of them to help others in need and in times of crisis.
