The new school project started when a teacher wrote to E-Jan and explained that currently 48 children with severe learning difficulties are being taught in a small classroom at the Anuban Hua Hin Nongkhon school.

The current facilities are inadequate to support and develop these children who because of their severity of disabilities are unable to attend main stream and Panyanukul schools.
The teacher’s request was to ask E-Jan for support to find a new school for the children, to many this would seem a momentous task, however E-Jan accepted this challenge.
The new school will be finally run by the ministry of education who have already purchased the land the school will be built on and, when completed will provide specialist teachers to provide development of the children attending to provide support not only for those children, but also the families and local communities.

E-Jan a Thai media company with over 16 million subscribers have agreed to raise the 20 million for the first phase of the project, Phase two will be to provide specialist classrooms and phase three will provide housing for the teachers.  Phase 1 of the project should take approximately 7 months to complete.

The Rotary club of Royal Hua Hin is proud to sponsor 500,000 Thai Baht towards an Audio Sensory room for children with autistism, Asperger’s and other illnesses can undertake treatment to ease their conditions. Time in an audio sensory room helps children improve their visual, auditory and tactile processing, as well as fine and gross motor skills. By providing a sense of calm and comfort, sensory rooms help children learn to self-regulate their behaviours, which ultimately improves their focus.

25th May saw the ground-breaking ceremony where the first piles for the new school building were dug, and a significant ceremony in Thai culture whereby the project was blessed for good luck.

E-Jan is also selling T-Shirts to help fund this project and the sales of these have raised over 1.2 million Thai Baht. These can be purchased online.

The ceremony was attended by prominent Thai ministers, assistant Governor Prachuap Khiri Khan, the Mayor of Hua Hin, and major sponsors for the project.
We would like to thank President Aree of the Rotary Club of Hua Hin for supporting this project.
