The First Rotary District 3330 Training Event held since 2019 was held at the Methavalai Hotel in Cha-Am Phetchaburi from Friday 13th May until Sunday 15th May.
The social side of events started on Thursday evening when members from RCRHH and our sister club Patong beach got together at PP President Paul Grabs house, for drinks and then dinner at the Billabong restaurant.
On Friday the traditional Global Grants seminar was held, and was attended by P Phil Lawrence, Treasurer Albert Labermeier, and Foundation chair Michael Kehnscherper where the memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed to enable our club to participate in any District or Global grants.
Youth Services Chair Benjamas also attended supporting the new Rotaract President Khun Asia and four other Rotaractors from Stamford International University.

Friday evening was another opportunity for the two clubs to get together for a social evening which was held at Le-Pub in Hua Hin.

The location of the event prompted 16 Members of the Rotary Club of Royal Hua Hin to attend the main event on Saturday 14th May.
Over 900 people from 101 clubs in our District attended the event and hotels were very full in the area. All attendees had to take a ATK test before registering, and face masks were compulsory in the main areas. This was hopefully a sign that we are finally shaking of the chains of Covid-19. Again, we were joined by our Rotaractors from Stamford.

Unfortunately, translation services were not provided due to technical difficulties with the equipment so the morning session was rather difficult for our members.

The afternoon session was well received from our District training team from Patong Beach Sam and David, and existing, new and potential board members enjoyed an interesting afternoon, whilst having fun. The three English speaking clubs Samui Phangan, Patong Beach and RCRHH took part in the session.

And of course, no Rotary Event would be complete without the culture and colour of the evening gala. Due to the number of people attending the event was split into several rooms, our club was fortunate to be located in the main ballroom.

Outgoing District Governor Paikit Hoonpongsimanont was given a send off by Presidents of Rotary year 117 who gave a well-rehearsed display with a Chinese theme. P Phil was pleased to be included in this.

Following the evening members of RCRHH and Patong Beach moved the party to Max’s restaurant to finish off the evening. We are looking forward to the return leg of the socialising in Phuket, when the District Conference is held in Patong Beach from the 24th to 26th June 2022.

Sunday 15th Saw the installation of the incoming Presidents for Rotary Year 118 from July 1st 2022 to June 30th 2023.

Benjamas and the Rotaractors were happy to join the many clubs taking part in the ceremony.
