On Friday 18th December the Rotary Club of Royal Hua Hin held its annual Christmas Party in the Blue Biscuit Restaurant at the Avani+ plus hotel and resort.

Over 90 Members and guests enjoyed great hospitality and a warm Christmas spirit provided by the manager of the hotel and his staff which included free flow wines and beer and a choice selection of traditional and International Christmas fare. Entertainment was provided by a local band Blue Velvet and a Frank Sinatra cover singer.
President Brian Anderson in his address to the audience welcomed everyone to the Blue Biscuit Restaurant at the Avani+ and hoped they would enjoy our last fellowship evening of 2020 and that some of our numerous guests would consider joining the Rotary Club Royal Hua Hin.
Brian called upon the Golf Committee Peter Wydler, Arnold Ruijs, Rick Rees and Phil Lawrence to come to the stage, P Brian thanked the committee for their efforts in 2020 in making the 11th Amateur Golf Classic a huge success despite the adverse conditions they were working to.

Treasurer Peter Wydler read a statement thanking the golf committee chair Michel Zuber and Rotarian David Lamb whose efforts in providing two of the major sponsors for this year contributed greatly to the success despite the difficulties of Covid-19. Peter went onto say that an amazing 978,000 Thai Baht had been raised this year. Guest David Range responded to this news by pledging a further 20,000 Thai Baht to take the total to over 1 Million Thai Baht.

P Brian then introduced new members.  Michael Kehnscherper, Albert Labermeier and transferee fromthe Rotary Club of Zurich West Freddy Lienhard. These new members were presented their certificates with their sponsors Helmut Schepers and Phil Lawrence and will receive a full induction in the New Year.

During the evening a raffle was held which raised over 20,000 Thai Baht, sales of golf shirts raised 9,000 Thai Baht.  Our own Rotarian Chris Byrd seemed to have a monopoly on prizes having three winning tickets.

The Board of Directors and members of the Rotary Club Royal Hua Hin would like to take this opportunity to wish all the people who have supported us over the years a very merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous new year.
