Join us in the global fight to end polio!

Please be invited to our next community service project to recognize World Polio Day and promote child immunization and health within our community, at Nong Phlap Sub-district Health Center from 9:00 – 10:30 am on 19 October.

To encourage families and bring smiles to the little ones, our club is going to provide the families with complimentary gift bags including toys, blankets, baby soap, baby bottles, and brochures emphasizing the importance of the polio vaccination.

Be sure to register your attendance on our Club Runner website as usual and we hope to see you there to join hands for a healthier, polio-free future.

About World Polio Day and Rotary International

The eradication of polio is one of Rotary International’s longest standing and most significant efforts. Along with our partners, we have helped immunize more than 2.5 billion children against polio in 122 countries, and have reduced polio cases by 99.9 percent worldwide. In 1985, Rotary launched PolioPlus, the first and largest internationally coordinated private-sector support of a public health initiative, with an initial fundraising target of USD 120 million. Next, Rotary and the World Health Organization launched the Global Polio Eradication Initiative in 1988 when there were an estimated 350,000 cases of polio in 125 countries.

World Polio Day is on 24 October every year and Rotary activities are conducted in October to raise awareness of the importance of polio vaccinations to protect every child from this devastating disease, and to celebrate the many parents, professionals and volunteers whose contributions have made polio eradication achievable.

Please be invited to our club lunch meeting where Past President Dr. Danai, the chairman of the Rotaract Committee in RI District 3330, will provide an update on the Rotaract organization of Rotary International. We have been the sponsor club of the Rotaract Club of Stamford International University Hua Hin campus since 2016, the Rotaract Club of Rajamangala University of Technology Rattanakosin Wangklaikangwon campus since 2022, and the Rotaract Club of Webster University Hua Hin campus from 2014 to 2020. We will also discuss our club’s recently completed and upcoming community service projects and activities as usual.

Registration is always required and if you register and then decide that you won’t be able to attend, be sure to delete your names from the registered list on our Club Runner website by 25 October. 

We need to inform Amari Resort Hua Hin of the headcount in advance and non-Rotarian friends are welcome to attend.
